Rules and Code
We hope that everyone can join in, learn new skills and have fun. Not just the players but their parents and guardians too. Our volunteer run community club is all about having fun.
To ensure everyone’s safety and with fun in mind we have a few rules.
- All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of each training session or game.
- No Smoking – on the playing field, playground area, at the change rooms, meeting room or undercover area.
- No bad language or bad behaviour, from players, parents or spectators.
- No dogs on the oval, playground area, at the change rooms, meeting room or undercover area.
We also have a code of behaviour which sets out expectations for everyone involved.
Club Code of Behaviour
The code of behaviour for players, parents and spectators have been adopted by the Ranford Junior Soccer Club to encourage young people to develop good sporting behaviours and have an enjoyable experience of sport. We hope this will encourage them to remain involved throughout their lives.
Parents please read through the code of behaviour to ensure you and your children know what is expected at training and games.
Players
- Play by the rules.
- Work hard for yourself and your team.
- Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches.
- Be a good sportsperson. Applaud good plays whether they are made by your team or the opposition.
- Treat all players as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another player.
- Respect the decisions of the officials.
- If you disagree with a decision speak to your team coach or manager who can approach the official during a break or after the competition.
- Co-operate with your coach, team-mates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition.
- Don’t get angry. Verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted.
- Respect the rights, dignity and value of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
Parents and Spectators
- Remember that children learn best by example so show your appreciation for good performances and skilful plays by all participants.
- Show respect for your team’s opponents. Without them there would be no game.
- Positive comments are motivational and welcomed.
- Focus on the children’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.
- Respect the decisions of officials and teach young people to do the same.
- Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
- Encourage the children to participate freely in the game, never force them.
- Encourage children to always play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostile or violent behaviour.
- Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a competition.
- Applaud good performance and efforts from all individuals and teams. Congratulate all participants on their performance regardless of the game’s outcome.
- Show your appreciation for our volunteer coaches, officials and administrators, because without them, the children could not participate.
- Respect the rights, dignity and value of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
- Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
